Short Visit to Malaysia
Few months ago, Andreas and I were offered Air Asia promo tickets to Kuala Lumpur by a non-parkour friend of Andreas named Randi. After going through some considerations, I agreed to buy it. And finally, there were 7 people joined this Malaysia trip: me, Andreas, Irfa (Andreas' wife), Randi, Lita (Randi's wife), Sherra (Randi's sister), and Eriga (Lita's brother).
This Malaysia trip schedule actually was on March 27th to April 3rd 2019. However, due to some several reasons; Andreas, Irfa, and I decided to go back to Indonesia on March 30th.
DAY 1 (March 27th 2019)
The seven of us met at Juanda International Airport around 01:30 PM, there was still a lot of time for relaxing before the plane departed at 03:00 PM.
Two and a half hours later, finally the plane landed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA 2). Local time showed ±06.30 PM (one hour ahead from Indonesian Western Time). After buying SIM cards and eating dinner at the airport food court, the seven of us immediately took a bus to KL Sentral.
From KL Sentral, we continued to take LRT to Pasar Seni area, then walked on foot to China Town Inn Hotel located at Petaling Street. It had been ±10.00 PM when we reached the hotel. Although we were physically tired, we're all still happy going through this trip.
After putting our stuff in and taking a shower, we decided to sightsee around China Town Petaling Street. Alas, most of the shops were closed because it had been already near midnight.
DAY 2 (March 28th 2019)
Around 11.00 AM, the seven of us went to Batu Caves by LRT. There hadn't been much change in this place since my last visit with Andreas in December 2017; always crowded with tourists whether domestic or foreign ones.
From Batu Caves, our trip continued to Petronas twin towers. Once arrived there, it turned out the sky had started to be a little bit cloudy. Luckily we had taken several pictures/videos when the rain really fell.
So, while waiting for the rain to stop, we decided to hang out in Suria KLCC Mall (the Mall inside Petronas tower) while having our dinner at its food court.
From Petronas tower, we headed to Alor Street Food Night Market in Bukit Bintang area. We wandered around there until ±10:00 PM before returning to the hotel.
DAY 3 (March 29th 2019)
I decided to part from the others on that day due to my appointment schedule with Ian. Just info, since about last July, he and Mariann had settled in Kuala Lumpur because of their work. So, of course I used this Malaysian trip for meeting and training parkour together with him.
At first, we made an appointment to meet up around The Starling Mall, because that's the place where Parkour Malaysia use to train. But due to the sudden hard rain dropped, we finally trained in the indoor gym of Ian's apartment.
When the rain subsided around 06.00 PM, both of us continued outside to do simple jamming at the yard of the apartment. Luckily the sun sets around 07.30 PM in KL, so there was a fair amount of time for spot exploration before it's getting dark.
By the evening, not long after Mariann returned from her office, the three of us were picked up by Shahman for eating dinner at Charlie's Cafe & Bakery. To be honest, it was my happiest moment during this trip. Not only just visiting touristy places or training parkour, but also the kinship and togetherness moment that really left me a deep impression.
Time flies so fast, it turned out that it had been 11.00 PM. So, that meant it's time to say goodbye to each other. Shahman then dropped me at Pasar Seni LRT station before drove Ian and Mariann to their apartment. From the LRT station, I just needed to walk about 15 minutes to the hotel.
DAY 4 (March 30th 2019)
As I stated above...I, Andreas, and Irfa had to go back to Indonesia on that day; meanwhile Randi, Lita, Sherra, and Eriga would still continue their trip in Malaysia. So, we decided to separate each other at KL Sentral.
After eating brunch at one of the food courts in NU Sentral Shopping Center (mall inside KL Sentral area), the three of us immediately took a bus to KLIA 2. When we reached the airport, Irfa and I separated with Andreas. He had to leave to Bali due to his videography job, meanwhile Irfa and I returned to Surabaya.
Although this was just a short trip, but overall I was satisfied. However, there's one shortcoming during this trip: I had no time to visit Penang to meet Bernard and the other TOFU Parkour crews. So, that means I definitely have to visit them this December during PKMY End Year Jam event.
