The New Normal
I
supposed to be in Germany on this day with Widio Putra a.k.a. Yos, attending Gravity Sucks parkour event in Hamburg. And for the next ±30 days, we should have been
there exploring the country, (maybe) watching live Euro 2020 in the football
stadium, and also training parkour together with fellow participants from
various countries. BUT…this covid-19 pandemic ruins everything. The committees cancelled the event, and that means, our preparations for the past
two years have ended in vain.
Especially
in the last 3 months, like it or not, I reluctantly had to use my Gravity
Sucks saving money in order to meet my daily needs due to financial problem during
this pandemic time. Not gonna lie, I’m so fucking disappointed with this. But
nothing we can do until the vaccine is available, which take about 12 - 18
months until it’s ready. It means, most likely I couldn’t travel anywhere until
the end of this year, or maybe until mid-2021!! And that’s sucks.
I
also have the feeling that Schengen visa application requirements will be increasingly tightened after this pandemic. But in spite of that thing, it
won’t lessen even a little bit my determination to visit Europe in the near
future, I’m sure I will make it, like Yos did in 2018. All I can do now is just
wait until this pandemic end, save more money, and of course maintain my health
condition. At least one thing that I should be thankful for is that I’m still
in 100% healthy condition until now. Money can be earned again, I shouldn’t
worry about that actually. The less stress I am, the happier and healthier I
will be.
Maybe
- if it existed - somewhere in the parallel universe, covid-19 pandemic never
happened at all. Everyone still did his/her daily routine, social gathering was
still allowed, and of course I would be in Germany training parkour and
exploring Germany with full enthusiasm. But…it’s just a mere daydream, we still
don’t know when this pandemic will be completely over. Even the media has
warned us to prepare for the new normal.
What
if the virus give permanent effect worldwide? What if we have to coexist with it
forever? Well…que sera sera, whatever will be, will be. It’s
definitely out of our control. If that's the case, we have to embrace it. At
least before the vaccine available, we must take care of our health even better,
like eat healthy food, exercise well, sleep enough, etc. So…I just wish all the
best for us, and our future.
